What’s your signature style?
Attention to detail
What’s your talent?
Water colour painting, or any kind of traditional media illustration.
What are you working on right now?
Some freelance illustration, and a curative publication!
Why is being creative important in your life?
Creativity allows me to share myself with others.
What is your biggest frustration in life?
My inability to match up to my own standards. And Auckland traffic.
What daily habits do you have?
I try to get up at the same time each day, exercise and read before bed in the evening.
What’s your favourite thing you have ever created?
I made a small book with little slide tabs and movable illustrations. Its probably only my favourite piece of ‘work’ because it started my passion towards writing and illustrating my own childrens books.
If you could have another skill, what would it be and why?
Invisibility – Everyone seems to want to be seen. I’m probably guilty of that, but its also important to have a quiet voice to influence the loud voice in us.
What’s the best advice you ever had about how to be more creative?
Just get started. Starting is always the hardest thing; the lack of a good idea or motivation, etc. Just making something and actually enjoying the process without putting pressure on yourself gives what you’re doing its life back.
Why are you interning for FRANK?
I believe serving should be at the heart of everything. Frank allows me to directly serve and use my creativity for this.
Where will you be in 2 years, and what will you be doing?
Hopefully working towards running my own design studio, and sponging all the experience I can for that. I just want to be able to bring all my creative interests into one space with likeminded people.
